Hi there, it’s Okigoso. Recently, I’ve been getting really into cycling. I used to go for rides with my kids, but now they leave me behind whenever we hit an uphill! I guess I’m feeling my age a bit… but it’s still a lot of fun. This year, I’m planning to cycle more than ever.
Now, on to this week’s featured product: a beautiful collection of Japanese chopsticks crafted using traditional techniques. Meet the Wakasa-nuri “Saison” Series—a set of handcrafted utensils where tradition meets design.
This Week’s Pick: Saison Series Chopsticks
Each pair of chopsticks in the Saison series features a stunning transition of colors, reminiscent of a glowing sky at magic hour.
There are four variations available, and my personal favorite is the “Salmon” color. The gradient feels like a peaceful sunset—it’s simple yet striking.
Each chopstick is carefully finished by a skilled Wakasa-nuri artisan, making every pair one of a kind. This traditional technique brings not only beauty but texture and warmth to your dining experience.
They also come in beautifully designed packaging—perfect for gifts or personal use.

Side Note: Hiking to Usagi Rock
Recently, I went hiking in Tono-cho, Mizunami City (Gifu Prefecture), where I visited a rock formation known as Usagi Iwa, or Rabbit Rock.
Doesn’t it look like a rabbit? So cute!
This hiking route actually continues all the way to another scenic spot called Tengu Rock. It was a surprisingly serious trail!
I’d love to write a full post about it soon—but in the meantime, feel free to check out our past article on Usagi Rock below:
