We recently visited the beautiful **Nisaki Campground** in Aichi Prefecture and we’re excited to share the experience with you!
About Nisaki Campground
Nisaki Campground is a seaside campsite located in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture.
From Mizunami City in Gifu Prefecture, it takes about two hours by car. For those of us living in landlocked Gifu, the sound of “by the sea” is irresistible! We had to check it out.
Arrival at Nisaki Campground
Here’s the reception building where you check in.
Just steps away from the ocean—exactly what we hoped for! Spirits were high.
This is the kind of place where you can truly unwind, right by the water.
Fun by the Sea
The beach is just a short walk from the campsite—perfect for seaside fun.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great that day, but on a clear day, you’d see stunning sunsets.
You’ll also find beach huts nearby, perfect for the summer swimming season.
Night at Nisaki Campground
Since we visited in April, the nights were still chilly, so we enjoyed a campfire. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.
Day Two: An Unexpected Storm
It was calm until midnight, but then came heavy rain and strong winds.
The pine trees nearby howled in the wind—what an intense night!
The rain was so heavy that water started seeping into the tent.
At times, we thought the tent might collapse from the wind!
Final Thoughts
When we arrived, the campsite was surprisingly empty—and now we know why! Despite the rough weather, it was an exciting adventure. Nisaki Campground is a fantastic spot, and we’d love to return on a sunny day.
