Last week, I took a nostalgic trip to the beach with my father—the same seaside spot he used to take me to as a child. Now, three generations of our family enjoyed the waves together. A little sentimental? Maybe, but it was pretty special.
Now, on to this week’s highlight: new arrivals from the *Shichita Someneko* series!
Introducing the *Fuki-Sumi* pattern—our adorable cat is back, this time with a big calligraphy brush in hand!
This Week’s Pick: Shichita Someneko – Fuki-Sumi Pattern
Our beloved Shichita Someneko series has a new addition!
These charming dishes feature our iconic feline with a giant brush, seemingly painting across the surface.
Crafted with a focus on traditional Gosu blue pigment, the brushstroke gradients bring a depth that’s worth admiring. It’s not just cute—it’s craftsmanship.
Even the back features a tiny dried sardine!
More New Arrivals
In addition to the new *Fuki-Sumi* pattern, we’ve also added a fresh design to the original Shichita series.
Plus, new recycled-material items from Oda Pottery are now in stock!

A Little Extra: Beachside Nostalgia

Sekumi Beach in Fukui Prefecture has been a family favorite since my childhood.
From family trips to teenage hangouts and now with my own kids, this beach has always been a part of life’s rhythm.

We swam until sunset, just like I used to.
As the years go by, promises like “Let’s go again” or “Maybe next time” don’t always come true.
That’s why we cherish the *now*. Here’s to more shared memories—on the beach or at the dinner table.
