Welcome to September! It’s still sweltering here in Mizunami, but we’re slowly starting to feel hints of seasonal change. By the end of the month, perhaps the evenings will carry a touch of chill.
This week, we’re excited to introduce a new addition to our Kissho series — featuring intricate, traditional Japanese patterns with a beautiful sense of depth. Our favorite? The elegant Kissho Cup & Saucer in Seigaiha Light Gray.
What is “Kissho”?
“Kissho” refers to auspicious motifs that have been cherished in Japan for generations — symbols of prosperity and longevity often found on kimono, crafts, and household items. In this series, each design is carefully hand-carved into the mold by expert artisans, creating delicate relief textures that feel as refined as they look.

Why You’ll Love It
- Subtle yet sophisticated: The understated light gray glaze complements both Japanese and Western interiors.
- Perfectly versatile: Use it for daily coffee or tea, or present it as a gift for weddings, birthdays, or international guests.
- Made in Japan: Crafted with heart in the pottery town of Mizunami.

More New Shapes in the Series
This week, 10 new shapes have been added to the Kissho collection! From plates to mugs, explore the full lineup below:

From the Blog: Summer Reflections
Summer break has come to an end. It was a hectic season this year, and I didn’t get to take as many photos as I’d hoped. At the beginning of August, I made a quick trip to Tokyo. I was bracing myself for intense heat, but to my surprise, the breeze was quite refreshing — even cooler than Gifu!

We also created a fun short video as part of a summer project, and I think it turned out pretty well. It’s amazing how much you can do with just a smartphone these days!

We also participated in the Hong Kong FOOD EXPO PRO again this year. It was a joy to see familiar faces visiting our booth. A big thank you to Chigonoiwa Sake Brewery and the Gifu Industry & Economy Promotion Center for their generous support!

Looking Ahead
Summer may be over, but we’ve got lots more to share through the end of the year. Let’s enjoy what remains of 2025 — together with beautiful tableware that brings joy to your everyday moments.
