Last weekend was my birthday, so I went for an all-you-can-eat crab feast at Shabu-Yo, a chain restaurant in Japan. I had no idea they offered crab buffets — what a surprise! It was a bit pricey, but hey, it was my birthday. Happy birthday to me!
And speaking of celebration, our featured new item this week is perfect for adding a festive, cultural flair to your table — the Handcrafted 8cm Mt. Fuji Ochoko (sake cup).
Mt. Fuji in the Palm of Your Hand
This tiny ochoko takes inspiration from Mt. Fuji — Japan’s most iconic peak and a symbol of beauty, strength, and tranquility. Its petite 8cm size is charming and perfect for a warm sip of sake or tea.
Following the popularity of our Mt. Fuji-inspired rice bowls, we’re excited to introduce this adorable ochoko version. It’s the kind of piece that looks delightful just sitting on a shelf — but even better when in use.
New Color Alert: Red for the New Year
We’ve also added a new red color to our Mt. Fuji rice bowl lineup! It joins the existing blue and green options to create a colorful and meaningful set.
Perfect timing too — these bowls would make a lovely addition to your New Year’s table. In Japan, the first dream of the year (Hatsuyume) traditionally includes “Mt. Fuji, a hawk, and an eggplant” — symbols of luck. Why not start your year with a piece of Mt. Fuji?
