Meta Description: A report on YAMANI’s participation in FOOD EXPO PRO 2025 in Hong Kong. We look back at the 4-day exhibition where our tableware met the world, along with a spontaneous side trip to Macau and unique local culture sights.
This happened back in August 2025, but we would like to look back at our exhibition at FOOD EXPO PRO in Hong Kong this year.
What is Hong Kong FOOD EXPO PRO?
Food Expo PRO in Hong Kong is known as one of Asia’s largest B2B food trade fairs, a major event that attracts many buyers and industry professionals from all over the world.
At the venue, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, a wide range of categories are on display, from food and beverages to related products such as tableware and kitchenware, making it a highly-regarded platform for international business negotiations.
It is held annually in mid-August, and this was YAMANI’s second time participating.
This time, it was held for four days from August 13th to August 16th, 2025.
Inside FOOD EXPO PRO
Here is a photo report from our departure to the exhibition.
Day 1 was for travel and setup.
Setting off with a wave from Mocchi-chan.
Traveling from Centrair (Chubu Centrair International Airport) to Hong Kong International Airport.
Cathay Pacific in-flight meals come with Häagen-Dazs for dessert, which always makes the trip feel a bit more luxurious.
From the airport, we took an Uber to the exhibition venue (Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre). It takes about an hour.
This time, we exhibited a selection of plates that bring out a true sense of Japan.
Our neighbors were Chigonoiwa Sake Brewery and the Gifu Prefectural Industrial Economic Promotion Center.
Now that the setup is finished, we head out for the day to prepare for the exhibition starting tomorrow.
Here’s dinner. A ramen-like dish, though I’ve forgotten the name.
Prices in Hong Kong are a bit higher than in Japan.
And then, the first day of FOOD EXPO 2025.
The opening was slightly delayed due to heavy rain, but the venue opened successfully.
Here are the products we exhibited this time.
Prices shown are the retail prices in Hong Kong.
During the exhibition, lunch was a bento box bought on the way.
There was torrential rain after the exhibition. We got absolutely soaked. That rain was something else.
From the second day, students from Gifu Prefectural Toki Commercial High School also joined the fray.

The students were working so energetically; it really gave me a boost!
After the exhibition, we managed to enjoy a little bit of sightseeing.
We made sure to catch the “Symphony of Lights.”
When I came last year, it was too rainy to see much, but this day was clear and we got a perfect view!
You can find Japanese culture in quite a few places around Hong Kong.
Finding “a taste of Japan” while traveling abroad brings a certain sense of relief.
The combination of the bird-like Gundam and Kentucky Fried Chicken was quite amusing.
There are also several signs in the city that use Japanese as-is.
This seems especially common for Japanese-style izakayas and sushi restaurants.
The name of this shop certainly had an impact.
At McDonald’s, they were having a collaboration with “Chiikawa.”
The burger had pineapple in it—a flavor you can’t really get at McDonald’s in Japan. It was delicious.
A Side Trip to Macau
I had set aside one day of free time after the exhibition.
When I found out about a campaign for free one-way ferry tickets to Macau, I made a spontaneous decision to head over there.
You can get to Macau from Hong Kong in about an hour by ferry.
The ferry ride was comfortable. However, the air conditioning is kept at its maximum, so don’t forget to bring a jacket.
I was worried because the forecast predicted rain, and well, it rained exactly as predicted.
But even a rainy Macau has its own charm!
I also had the chance to visit one of our clients there.
Macau has a different atmosphere compared to Hong Kong.
Reflecting on FOOD EXPO PRO 2025
This was our second time at FOOD EXPO PRO in Hong Kong.
During the exhibition, I was able to talk to many people.
It was a very enjoyable event, and I was happy to see many of our regular clients come by.
A big thank you to Chigonoiwa Sake Brewery, the Gifu Prefectural Industrial Economic Promotion Center, and Gifu Prefectural Toki Commercial High School for all your help.
Thank you very much.
